Tucker Vs Partridge: A Case Study In Merchandise
We mentioned briefly in our blog about Tucker Vs Partridge but little did we how popular it turned out – becoming one of The Big Issue’s top selling magazines on the site.
The Big Issue is a weekly magazine that believes in giving people a hand up, not a handout. They are a social enterprise with the mission to end poverty and provide a way for people to get out of homelessness through trade and support.
We have the pleasure of helping to manage a wide variety of aspects of The Big Issue Shop, an e-commerce store where we manage stock, merchandise and maintain social communications.
One of our highlights of the year was creating merchandise for one of The Big Issue’s best selling issue – Tucker Vs Partridge. The appeared in an October issue guest edited by both characters creator Armando Iannucci. In the issue, politics and the media went head to head to settle the Brexit question once and for all in a debate between the two characters. Representing politics: Malcolm Tucker, former communications director at No 10 Downing Street. Representing the media: local, national and online broadcaster Alan Partridge. The end result was a sharp, comedic piece thast resonated with the public.
We created a variety of merch which included tea-towels, t-shirts and mugs. Check out the video for a better overview. Merchandising is a great way to supplement your income and provide a way to spread brand awareness. If you are interested seeing where merchandising can fit in your business then please get in touch.
